"In our life there is a single color, as on an artist's palette,

which provides the meaning of life and art.

It is the color of love.”

~ Marc Chagall

Wedding Cake Topper Prototypes

I'm working on several different designs. This is the first. My camera does not do well with details. The brides dress has tiny sparkle/glitter on the front and back of her dress, as well as in her hair (between the dots of orchid).

New Cuties!

I love making the clothes for my dolls. It's challenging and fun to work with things so small.  When my youngest daughter and I were window shopping and saw something small (and cute) one of us would say "It's so cute..."  and then we'd both finish with "because it's so small!!!"

Here are pics of a few recent 'cuties':

Happy Friday!

Right now I am working on 15 mini's and 5 original 'treasures'. I'm excited because they just keep getting cuter (if that is possible).  I will be posting pics as soon as the mini's are finished and the originals have their clothes on! I have a bit of a surprise with the newest batch of originals!

I am planning a trip to visit my son, his wife & my two grandson's - who live in Spokane, Washington mid-June. Because I think it's a bad idea to start a business and then not be available for it, I will be waiting until I return to launch my web site. Until then, I will continue to create!

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me at: ihearttreasures@gmail.com

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Mother's Day Weekend

It was a busy - and fun - Mother's Day Weekend. Saturday, we took the ferry from Portsmouth to Norfolk where we enjoyed the hot and sunny, though windy day. Everyone kept asking us if we were going to the Wine Festival. There is something very unappealing to me about drinking wine outside on a hot day, so no, we did not go to the Festival.

At 3:55 pm, a bit tired and very thirsty, we were standing on a narrow street, waiting for one of our favorite restaurants to open. A gentleman from the restaurant's kitchen was taking a break near the alley. While standing there waiting, suddenly a very comical thing happened... A soda can and a take-out plastic container came flying down the street, as if in a race with each other. The three of us started cheering them on and then began cheering for the soda can to "win"! The can would get ahead, and then the plastic container, and this continued down the street, as we three continued to laugh and cheer. Coming to the stop sign, the can suddenly burst ahead - and we all cheered - the can won! (lol) To add more humor to the situation, both the can and the plastic container (even with it still being windy) both stopped. (I still laugh when I think about the three of us - 'grownups' - getting a kick out of such a silly thing!)

I also got some time to work on my dolls. Here are a few mini's from the weekend:

Working on the Web Site

I am still working on my 'to do' list before I can launch my web site. I bought a printer which will allow me to print out invoices as well as business cards and such. Tomorrow I will be getting an invoice program. Next comes the photo shoot and then the web site! I'm nervous and excited and having fun with it all!

Here is an impromptu photo shoot from today:

p.s. These dolls were not all made in one day. They are meticulously and lovingly hand-made and are therefore not 'mass produced'.  These are the outfits I made today. :-)
